Quicksilver Scientific Sashimi Omegas (120 softgels) contains OmeGo® full-spectrum salmon oil made from young Norwegian salmon. This formula provides a broad spectrum of naturally occurring fatty acids, including omega 3, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 11, in the original triglyceride form as naturally found in fish. What is Full-spectrum salmon oil, such as OmeGo®?
Full-spectrum salmon oil, such as OmeGo®, is salmon oil in which the natural fatty acid profile is preserved as much as possible. As a result, it contains not only EPA and DHA but also other naturally occurring fatty acids, such as DPA, ETA, omega 5, 7, 9 and 11.
What makes the triglyceride form special?
The fatty acids in Sashimi Omegas are present in their natural triglyceride form. This is the form in which fats naturally occur in fish and food.
What is the difference between EPA, DHA, DPA and ETA?
EPA and DHA are the best-known omega 3 fatty acids and are often listed on fish oil products. DPA and ETA are also part of the omega 3 family but are less well known and naturally occur in smaller amounts. In full-spectrum salmon oil, these different omega 3 fatty acids remain together, just as they naturally occur in salmon oil.
What is omega 7?
Omega 7 belongs to the monounsaturated fatty acids and is naturally found in, among others, salmon, anchovies, macadamia nuts and sea buckthorn berries.
What is omega 9?
Omega 9 fatty acids are monounsaturated fatty acids that naturally occur in, among others, olive oil, avocados, nuts and salmon. In full-spectrum salmon oil, the naturally occurring omega 9 is also preserved, alongside other omega 3 fatty acids.
What is omega 11?
Omega 11 usually refers to cetoleic acid, a long-chain monounsaturated fatty acid that can naturally be found in certain marine oils, such as fish oil. In salmon oil, omega 11 is part of the natural fatty acid profile, alongside other omega 3 fatty acids.
