OstroVit Maca VEGE (90 tablets) contains a high-quality extract of maca root (Lepidium meyenii Walp) with an extraction ratio of DER 10:1. This root, originating from the Andes in Peru, is known for its traditional use as a nutritious crop. Each tablet provides 500 mg of maca extract, and with 90 tablets the packaging offers a sufficient supply for three months of daily use.
Lepidium meyenii Walp. is the botanical name for maca, a plant in the cruciferous family. The root of this plant is the part known as "maca." Maca naturally grows in the highlands of the Andes. The addition "Walp." refers to Wilhelm Gerhard Walpers, the German botanist who officially described the species.
Each tablet contains 500 mg of maca root extract, standardized to a ratio of DER 10:1.
DER 10:1 stands for Drug Extract Ratio of 10:1. This means that for every 1 gram of extract, 10 grams of dried maca root were used. It is therefore a concentrated extract.
