NOW Foods Policosanol Extra 40 mg (90 capsules) is a supplement with 40 mg policosanol per capsule. This product contains four times more policosanol (40 mg per capsule) than the regular product (10 mg per capsule) from this brand. The policosanol is derived from sugarcane. In addition, it contains 200 mg pine phytosterol powder and an extract from hawthorn. The capsules are vegan and contain no artificial additives.

Policosanol is a mixture of alcohols extracted from plants such as sugarcane.
How is policosanol produced?
It is usually extracted from the waxy part of sugarcane or other plants such as grains.
What is pine phytosterol powder?
This is a powder obtained from pine trees and is rich in plant sterols (phytosterols). These substances are structurally similar to cholesterol and occur naturally in nuts, seeds, grains, and vegetable oils.
Why is there little information given about the use of this supplement?
