NOW Foods Evening Primrose Oil 1000 mg (90 softgels) contains evening primrose oil from the seeds of the Oenothera biennis plant. This plant-based oil contains the omega 6 fatty acid gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). NOW Foods is known for its high-quality standards and transparent ingredient selection.
Evening primrose oil is obtained from the seeds of the Oenothera biennis plant and naturally contains fatty acids such as gamma-linolenic acid.
Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is an omega 6 fatty acid found in plant oils such as evening primrose oil, borage oil, and blackcurrant seed oil. The body can produce small amounts of GLA itself from linoleic acid.
Cold-pressed means that the oil is extracted without heating. This better preserves the natural properties of the oil, which is often desirable with sensitive fatty acids such as GLA.
It is recommended to take evening primrose oil during a meal of your choice.
