Jarrow Formulas Alpha Lipoic Sustain 300 mg (60 and 120 tablets) is a dietary supplement with alpha lipoic acid in a dual-phase formula for gradual release. Each tablet contains 300 mg of alpha lipoic acid, with half released immediately and the other half released slowly. The tablets also contain biotin.
Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) is a sulfur-containing organic acid found in some foods and supplements.
Biotin is added because increased intake of alpha lipoic acid can affect biotin levels.
Alpha lipoic acid is found in small amounts in spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, red beets, and meats such as organ meats.
