BONO Berberine (Rebersa®) (60 plant-based capsules) contains 500 mg Rebersa® per capsule, a standardised and patented berberine extract from the root of Berberis aristata. Rebersa® is standardised to a minimum of 97% berberine hydrochloride and has an extract ratio of 40:1: for 1 kg of extract, 40 kg of root is used.
We only use the root. Berberine is naturally most highly concentrated in that part of the plant. Berberis aristata has traditionally been used in Ayurveda, the traditional Indian herbal medicine.

The most well-known application is supporting a healthy blood sugar level.* In addition, Berberis aristata contributes to the maintenance of normal liver function.* There are more possible uses, but due to European regulation of claims, we cannot discuss them here.
When will you notice anything from berberine?
That varies from person to person and depends on the dosage and why you are using it. Berberine is usually not a supplement where you notice effects immediately. In research, use is often studied over at least 8 to 12 weeks.
What is berberine?
Berberine is a plant compound that naturally occurs in various types of barberry, including common barberry (Berberis vulgaris) and Indian barberry (Berberis aristata). BONO uses a standardised root extract from Berberis aristata.
Why is the quality of berberine so important?
Two products may both have berberine on the label, while the quality, standardisation, and origin of the extract may differ. That is why BONO uses Rebersa® from Sabinsa, which has a determined purity for each batch.
What makes Rebersa® different from a standard berberine extract?
Rebersa® is a patented extract from the root of Berberis aristata. The extract is standardised to 97% berberine HCl. As a result, every dose and each batch contains the same and controlled amount of berberine compounds.
What does clean label mean for this product?
Clean label at BONO means: a formula with as few additives as possible. The Rebersa® Berberine formula contains only rice flour as filler, and rice fibre extract and MCT powder as anti-caking agents, in addition to the extract.
What does 40:1 extract mean?
A 40:1 extract means that 40 parts of the root of Berberis aristata are used to make 1 part berberine extract. So it is a concentrated root extract, with a clear ratio between plant material and final extract.
