Omega-3 oils contain eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which are often less present in the average western diet. Additionally, the production of EPA and DHA from ALA may be insufficient for many people following a western diet under certain conditions.
Omega-3 contains double the amount of EPA and DHA compared to many common fish oil capsules, which means this product has a higher concentration of EPA/DHA than many other common products that also contain EPA and DHA.
