Jarrow Formulas Alpha Lipoic Sustain 300 mg (60 and 120 tablets) is a dietary supplement with alpha-lipoic acid in a dual-phase formula for sustained release. Each tablet contains 300 mg of alpha-lipoic acid, half of which is released immediately and the other half is released gradually. The tablets also contain biotin.Â
Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) is a sulfur-containing organic acid found in some foods and supplements.
Biotin is included because an increased intake of alpha-lipoic acid can affect biotin levels.
Alpha-lipoic acid is found in small amounts in spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, red beets, and meats such as organ meats.
