SuperFeast is an Australian brand, started in 2011 by herbalist Mason Taylor. It makes powdered extracts of tonic herbs and functional mushrooms, not tablets with added vitamins. Nearly every product is a 10:1 extract: ten kilos of dried herb are concentrated into one kilo of powder. The mushrooms are made from the fruiting body, the visible part of the mushroom, grown on wood. Many cheaper mushroom powders use mycelium grown on rice, so part of what you buy is grain starch.
Dì Dào sourcing is the thinking behind the range. It means growing a herb where it has always grown: reishi on oak duanwood in China's Dabie Mountains, chaga wild on birch in the Changbai region. Reishi and chaga are dual extracted with hot water and rice-based alcohol, so both the water-soluble and the alcohol-soluble parts end up in the powder. One honest note: the herbs are not certified organic. SuperFeast works with small independent farms and says certifying each one separately is not workable.
The range falls into two halves. Single ingredients include Reishi, Chaga, Cordyceps, Lion's Mane, Turkey Tail, Ashwagandha and MSM. The blends include Mason's Mushrooms with eight mushrooms, JING, QI, Neural Nectar and I Am Gaia. You can see where these sit among our other herbal supplements, or compare a blend with cordyceps on its own. Powders come in bags and in dark Miron glass jars. Capsules exist for a few products and contain a small amount of organic sweet potato and bamboo extract so the powder flows.
We judge a brand on three things: the form of the ingredient, the dose, and whether a combination makes sense. SuperFeast passes on all three. The extracts are fruiting body at a 10:1 ratio, the labels name every mushroom by its Latin name, and the blends follow one clear idea instead of a long list. Every batch is tested by an outside lab for heavy metals, pesticides and aflatoxins, the toxins that moulds can produce. Our own compliance team checks each product before it goes live, and we buy straight from the brand, so what reaches you is authentic. You can read how we select brands.
This range suits people who prefer a daily tonic they stir into coffee, cacao or warm plant milk over a capsule regime, and who want to know exactly which part of the mushroom they are drinking. It is not the cheapest way to buy mushroom powder. A 10:1 extract and slow-growing wild chaga cost more per gram than a milled mushroom powder, and that is the trade you are making.
SuperFeast sits alongside the other brands in our range, so you can compare approaches before you commit to a jar.
SuperFeast is an Australian herbal brand, founded in 2011 by herbalist Mason Taylor and based in northern New South Wales. It sells concentrated powdered extracts of tonic herbs and functional mushrooms, plus a smaller number of capsules. The best known products are Mason's Mushrooms, an eight-mushroom blend, and the JING and QI blends. The range is built for daily use in a drink rather than as a short course of tablets.
