Each capsule contains a total of 17 billion CFU (colony-forming units) at production, spread over three strains: L. plantarum (10 billion), L. salivarius (4 billion), and L. rhamnosus (3 billion). CFU is a measure of the number of live microorganisms capable of multiplying. This value therefore indicates how many active bacteria are in the product at the time of manufacture.

Fructo-oligosaccharides are prebiotic fibers added to this supplement as a food source for the bacteria. Although the body does not digest these fibers itself, they are often used to support the bacteria in the supplement.

Although these three bacterial strains all belong to the Lactobacillus genus, they each have their own origin and characteristics. L. plantarum is often found in fermented foods such as sauerkraut and olives. L. salivarius naturally occurs in certain environments where bacteria coexist, such as in fermented dairy products. L. rhamnosus is one of the most studied strains and is known for its broad applicability in supplements. The combination of these three strains provides a diverse bacterial profile.
