Allergy Research Group® DIM Enhanced Delivery System (120 capsules) is a supplement with a special form of diindolylmethane (DIM), called BioResponse® DIM. This form is micro-encapsulated, which helps with better absorption. In addition to DIM, the product also contains vitamin E, phosphatidylcholine from sunflower, and other supporting ingredients. A daily dose of four capsules contains a total of 300 mg BioResponse® DIM.
DIM stands for Diindolylmethane, a natural compound that is formed when certain substances from cruciferous vegetables are broken down, such as from broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and kale. It is often used in supplement form due to its practical dosage and consistent composition.
DIM itself is not present directly in food, but it is formed in small amounts during the digestion of substances from cruciferous vegetables. Think of vegetables like broccoli, bok choy, cauliflower, kale, and Brussels sprouts.
BioResponse® DIM is a patented form of DIM that is micro-encapsulated. This makes it more water-soluble than the standard, crystalline form of DIM. This makes it suitable for use in capsules, with the advantage that it is evenly distributed and easy to dose. Regular DIM is generally less soluble, which can affect ease of use and consistency.
Taking this supplement with a meal supports the gradual absorption of the ingredients. In addition, it ensures that the supplement becomes part of a routine and is more pleasant for people who are sensitive to supplements on an empty stomach.
Although DIM is formed when eating cruciferous vegetables, the amounts that occur in food are limited. In supplement form the amount is standardized and specifically tailored to the desired daily intake.
