TruHeight Bacterial Strains Gummies (60 gummies) contain inulin in combination with three bacterial strains: Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Bifidobacterium bifidum. One serving of 2 gummies provides 50 mg inulin, 1.66 mg Lactobacillus acidophilus, 0.84 mg Lactobacillus rhamnosus and 0.42 mg Bifidobacterium bifidum. One pack contains 30 servings (60 gummies) and, with the recommended dosage of 2 gummies per day, lasts for approximately 30 days. The gummies are strawberry flavoured.
One serving of 2 gummies contains 3 g total sugars, of which 3 g are added sugars.
Inulin is a dietary fibre that naturally occurs in, among others, chicory, onions, garlic and bananas.
Lactobacillus acidophilus is a lactic acid bacterium named after the lactic acid (acidum lacticum) this bacterial strain produces during fermentation. The strain is naturally found in fermented dairy products, such as yoghurt and kefir, and is one of the most researched and applied strains in food supplements.
Lactobacillus rhamnosus is a lactic acid bacterium first isolated in the 1980s. The name refers to the sugar rhamnose, which this bacterial strain can ferment. The strain naturally occurs in fermented foods and is used worldwide in food supplements.
Bifidobacterium bifidum is a bacterial strain from the bifidobacteria family, recognisable by the branched, Y-shaped structure of its bacterial cells. This strain is among the first bacteria to be naturally present and is regularly combined with other bacterial strains and dietary fibres, such as inulin, in food supplements.
CFU stands for "colony forming units" and indicates the number of viable bacteria in a supplement.
In the EU, certain excipients used in gummies, including sweeteners, gelling agents and glazing agents, are not permitted for young children. For that reason, we use 3 years as the minimum age. The manufacturer follows American regulations, which are not directly applicable here.
