Trace Minerals Ionic Calcium (59 ml) is a liquid supplement with 200 mg of calcium per daily serving of 1.25 ml, derived from calcium chloride. Each serving also contains 250 mg of chloride, 4 mg of magnesium, and 50 mg of ConcenTrace® trace minerals. You take 1.25 ml daily, which corresponds to ¼ teaspoon or 25 drops. The liquid has a concentrated mineral taste, which you can easily mask by mixing the dose with juice or taking it with a meal. With daily use, one bottle lasts about 48 days.
Calcium is a mineral that naturally occurs in food. Well-known sources include milk, yoghurt and cheese, but also green leafy vegetables, almonds, sesame seeds, tofu, and sardines with bones. In addition, calcium is available as a dietary supplement, for example in tablets, powder, or liquid form.
Calcium chloride is a compound of calcium and chlorine which dissolves well in water. It is also used in the food industry, for example in the making of cheese and tofu. In this supplement, calcium chloride is the source of both the calcium and part of the chloride.
When calcium chloride dissolves in water, it breaks down into electrically charged particles, also called ions. The calcium is then present as calcium ions and the chlorine as chloride ions. That is why the manufacturer refers to ionic calcium.
Chloride is a mineral that mainly enters food via table salt, or sodium chloride. In this supplement, the chloride comes from calcium chloride and ConcenTrace® trace minerals. Each dose contains 250 mg.
ConcenTrace® is a concentrate of trace minerals from Trace Minerals, made from concentrated seawater. It naturally contains various minerals and trace elements, including magnesium. Each dose of this supplement contains 50 mg of ConcenTrace®.
