Grape seeds are the hard seeds in grapes of the species Vitis vinifera. They are usually left over after pressing grapes, such as during wine production. These seeds are dried and finely ground for use in supplements and naturally contain plant compounds such as polyphenols.

Full Spectrum® indicates that the supplement contains the entire, unprocessed plant material—in this case, the whole ground grape seed. No extraction or concentration has been applied. This keeps the composition as close as possible to the original form of the ingredient, preserving the natural variation.

Polyphenols are bioactive compounds that naturally occur in plants, seeds, skins, and leaves. Grape seeds mainly contain proanthocyanidins, a specific group of polyphenols. These compounds fulfill a protective role in the plant against, for example, sunlight or insects.
