Solgar Vegetarian Collagen Complex Ovoderm (60 capsules) combines Ovoderm® eggshell membrane powder with vitamin C in the form of Ester-C®, bamboo shoot extract, and co-enzyme Q10. Each daily dose of 2 capsules provides 300 mg Ovoderm®, which naturally contains collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, supplemented with 100 mg vitamin C, bamboo extract (of which 50 mg is silica), and 50 mg Q10.
Ovoderm® is a patented ingredient derived from the membrane inside the eggshell. It naturally contains collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, and is processed into a fine powder for supplements.
Eggshell membrane is located between the hard eggshell and the egg white of a chicken egg; it is a thin, fibrous layer rich in natural protein structures and bioactive substances.
Ovoderm® naturally contains several types of collagen, including type I, V, and X. These collagen types differ in molecular structure and organization and are part of the natural connective tissue matrix of the eggshell membrane. Collagen itself is a structural protein with a characteristic fibrous composition.
Ester-C® is a patented, non-acidic form of vitamin C (calcium L-ascorbate) that is formulated differently than the traditional ascorbic acid form.
Silica is a compound of silicon and oxygen; in this product, it is derived from bamboo shoot extract, a natural source of silica.
Co-enzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like substance naturally found in food, and in supplements is often produced via fermentation.
