Nature's Way DGL Licorice (100 tablets) contains deglycyrrhizinated licorice root, a specially processed variant of licorice that is free of glycyrrhizin. This makes it suitable for regular use. This formula is ideal for those looking for a regulated form of licorice.
Deglycyrrhizinated licorice root means that the compound glycyrrhizin (or glycyrrhizinic acid) has largely been removed from the licorice root.
Glycyrrhizin (or glycyrrhizinic acid) is a natural component of the licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra). It is a sweet-tasting substance, up to 30 to 50 times sweeter than sugar, and is often used in herbal preparations, cough syrups, and sometimes as a sweetener.
This product is suitable for adults looking for a regulated form of licorice to support their daily diet.
