BONO Buffered Vitamin C 1000 mg (90 tablets) contains 1000 mg of vitamin C per tablet in the form of calcium ascorbate. Unlike ascorbic acid, calcium ascorbate is a salt of vitamin C with a neutral pH, which makes it milder on the stomach. Vitamin C contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Because the vitamin C is bound to calcium, each tablet also provides 212 mg calcium (27% NRV). Calcium helps maintain normal bones and supports normal muscle function.
Citrus bioflavonoids occur naturally in citrus fruits, together with vitamin C. Inspired by this natural combination, they are added here as a supplement (50 mg per tablet).
When ascorbic acid is bound to calcium or magnesium, this is called buffered vitamin C. This form of vitamin C is non-acidic.
Calcium ascorbate is a buffered (non-acidic) form of vitamin C in which ascorbic acid is bound to the mineral calcium.
This form of vitamin C is well absorbed and is a suitable choice for people who tolerate regular ascorbic acid less well. In addition to vitamin C, it also provides calcium.
Vitamin C in the form of ascorbic acid is acidic and may feel less comfortable on the stomach for some people. Calcium ascorbate has a neutral pH (non-acidic). That is why calcium ascorbate is often described as stomach-friendly.
Citrus bioflavonoids are plant compounds that naturally occur in citrus fruits. In this supplement, they are combined with vitamin C, just as these substances are naturally present together in citrus fruits.
Some people use vitamin C temporarily when they want to support their immune system. But you can use this vitamin C 1000 mg for as long as you wish.
There are no animal ingredients present in the composition of these tablets.
