Glutamine is a conditionally essential amino acid.

Glutamine peptides are small protein structures that contain glutamine. Unlike free L-glutamine, the amino acid is still bound to other amino acids. They are usually obtained from plant proteins, such as wheat protein.

Free L-glutamine is a loose amino acid, directly available for absorption. In peptide form, the amino acid is part of a short chain. Some users choose the peptide form because of differences in stability or absorption characteristics.

The glutamine peptides in this product are derived from wheat, which means the product may contain traces of gluten.

Essential amino acids cannot be formed by animal organisms from other substances and therefore must be obtained through food or supplements. Non-essential amino acids can in principle be synthesized from other compounds within the organism. Conditionally essential amino acids usually fall into the second category, but may still be needed from external sources under certain circumstances, for example when there is increased demand.
