BioTechUSA 100% L-Glutamine (240 or 500 grams) consists exclusively of L-glutamine, an amino acid in powder form. One serving of 5 g, about 1 scoop or 1 tablespoon, provides 5 g of L-glutamine. Because the powder is tasteless, you can easily mix it with water or juice, or stir it into your protein shake. This way, it easily fits into your daily routine. The manufacturer recommends 1 serving in the morning and 1 serving in the evening. The powder is available in packs of 240 and 500 grams.
L-glutamine is an amino acid, one of the twenty building blocks that make up proteins. It is a non-essential amino acid. This means it is among the amino acids that are not counted among the nine essential ones.
Glutamine is naturally present in protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, eggs, milk and yoghurt. Plant-based products also contain glutamine, such as beans, tofu, cabbage and spinach.
Nothing has been added to the powder, so there are no flavourings or sweeteners either. As a result, you can easily combine it with water, juice or a flavoured protein shake without changing the taste.
A serving of 5 g corresponds to about 1 scoop or 1 tablespoon of powder. A scoop is always an estimate. With a kitchen scale, you can be sure you are using exactly 5 g.
Glutamine and glutamic acid are chemically very similar, but glutamine has an extra nitrogen group. Glutamic acid is best known from the flavour enhancer E620 and its salt, monosodium glutamate (E621), which gives the umami taste.
