Acetyl-L-Carnitine (ALCAR) is an acetylated form of L-Carnitine, a substance that naturally occurs in the body and can also be obtained through food.
The powder can be dissolved in water, a smoothie, or in fruit juice. For optimal absorption, preferably do not take the powder with protein-rich foods. Athletes can take Acetyl-L-Carnitine powder before or after training.
L-Carnitine naturally occurs in animal products such as red meat, fish, poultry, and dairy. Plants generally contain less carnitine.
