Allergy Research Group® Lumbrokinase (30 or 60 capsules) contains an enzyme preparation based on lumbrokinase, derived from the earthworm Lumbricus rubellus. Each daily dose of two capsules contains 32 mg of lumbrokinase (600,000 IU), packaged in delayed-release capsules. This formula was developed for those looking for a compact dosage of enzymes in combination with controlled release. Available in two sizes: 30 or 60 capsules per package.
Lumbrokinase is an enzyme complex extracted from the earthworm Lumbricus rubellus and belongs to the group of proteolytic enzymes.
Although they all belong to the proteolytic enzymes, the source, structure, and properties differ; lumbrokinase comes from earthworms while nattokinase is obtained from fermented soy.
The capsules are resistant to stomach acid and are designed to release the enzyme only in the intestines, which may support the activity of the enzyme.
IU stands for International Units. It is a unit used to indicate the biological activity or effectiveness of an active substance, and not the exact weight. For enzymes such as lumbrokinase, it indicates how much enzymatic activity a certain amount has, so that different forms or sources can still be compared properly.
