Nature's Way Garden Veggies™ (60 capsules) contains a blend of dried powder from 12 types of vegetables in easy-to-take capsules. The blend includes broccoli, spinach, carrot, beetroot, pea, tomato, cabbage, cauliflower, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, cucumber and pumpkin. Each serving of 2 capsules provides 900 mg of dried vegetable powder. The capsules are suitable for vegans and are a practical way to add powdered vegetables to your daily routine, even on busy days. Take 2 capsules per day with water during a meal, which means one pack lasts 30 days. The product is suitable for adults and children from 12 years of age.
Vegetable powder is made from vegetables that have been dried and then finely ground. During drying, the water is removed from the vegetables, leaving a concentrated powder.
To make vegetable powder, vegetables are usually washed, cut, dried and then finely ground. Common drying methods include air drying, spray drying and freeze drying.
Fresh vegetables are largely made up of water, often 80 to 95%. In vegetable powder, that water has been removed. This means 900 mg of dried powder comes from a larger quantity of fresh vegetables. Vegetable powder is not a replacement for fresh vegetables in a varied diet.
Cruciferous vegetables belong to the plant family Brassicaceae. The name refers to the four petals of the flower which form a cross shape. In this blend, these are broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts.
Beetroot (Beta vulgaris) is a root vegetable with a deep red colour. This colour comes from betanin, a natural pigment that occurs naturally in beetroot.
The powder is enclosed in a capsule. As a result, you do not taste the vegetables when taking it. The amount per capsule is also always consistent.
