What exactly is spirulina?
Spirulina is a cyanobacterium (so technically not a true algae) that contains many types of vitamins, minerals, and proteins. Two types are used in supplements: Arthrospira platensis and Arthrospira maxima. This supplement contains Arthrospira platensis.
Why is it recommended to take spirulina with water?
Spirulina has a natural and sometimes strong smell or taste. Taking it with water makes swallowing easier and more neutral.
