Bacterial strains are specific types of microorganisms that are added to a supplement in a controlled form. Each strain has a unique name composed of genus, species, and strain code, for example Lactobacillus rhamnosus (Lr-32).

CFU stands for “colony forming units” and indicates how many living microorganisms are present per capsule. In this case, it concerns 100 billion viable units per dose.

Both groups belong to lactic acid bacteria, but they differ in origin, form, and habitat. Lactobacillus is more often found in fermented products, while Bifidobacterium species are often found in other environments. The combination in this supplement provides a broad spectrum.

The amount of CFU is guaranteed until the expiration date, provided the product is stored under the correct conditions – in this case, refrigerated.

FOS (fructo-oligosaccharides) is a type of carbohydrate that is often added to supplements with bacterial strains as dietary fiber. It is not broken down in the small intestine.
