Solgar Glucosamine HCl 1000 mg (60 tablets) contains 1000 mg glucosamine hydrochloride per tablet, of which 831 mg is elemental glucosamine. This form is shellfish-free. The tablets are firmly pressed and have a smooth coating to make swallowing easier. The product is packaged in dark glass to protect against light, air and moisture.
Glucosamine HCl is glucosamine in the hydrochloride form, which provides a high concentration of elemental glucosamine. The HCl form is one of the two most common forms of glucosamine, alongside glucosamine sulfate.
The HCl form generally contains more elemental glucosamine per gram and is available shellfish-free.
