Why is iron bisglycinate more absorbable?
Iron bisglycinate is a chelate, where iron is bound to the amino acid glycine. This structure protects the iron from degradation in the stomach, allowing it to reach the intestines intact for optimal absorption.
Why does this supplement also contain copper?
Iron and copper have a reciprocal relationship in the body; increased iron intake can lead to decreased copper levels and vice versa. Adding copper helps maintain a normal balance.
Can I take Iron Bisglycinate Complex daily instead of every other day?
Preferably not. Iron is absorbed more efficiently when taken every other day. This is because the body has a natural regulatory mechanism that reduces iron absorption with daily intake. With every-other-day supplementation, absorption is better regulated.
