Black cohosh is a plant originally native to North America. Other names include cimicifuga racemosa, actaea racemosa, black bugbane, squaw root, and black cohosh.
Risk groups such as pregnant individuals, breastfeeding parents, children, and people with liver conditions or breast cancer are advised against taking black cohosh. Do not use for longer than 6 months unless advised by a specialist.
Standardized extracts contain the same amount of active ingredient per dosage, which is important for consistency and reliability of the product.
