The colostrum in this product is derived from cow's milk and is collected within the first 12 to 24 hours after birth, when the concentration of active components is highest.
Lactoferrin is a specific protein found, among other things, in colostrum. Colostrum also contains many other substances such as immunoglobulins and growth factors. Lactoferrin is thus one component of colostrum, while colostrum is a broader natural product.
Colostrum contains both lactose and milk proteins. With mild lactose intolerance, some people can use colostrum because it contains relatively little lactose. Use is strongly discouraged in case of a milk protein allergy. Always consult a doctor or dietitian if in doubt before taking the product.
