BroccoMax® by Jarrow Formulas (60 and 120 capsules) is a supplement that contains sulforaphane glucosinolates. This supplement is derived from broccoli seed extract. The supplement also contains the enzyme myrosinase, which enables the conversion of these glucosinolates into sulforaphane.
Sulforaphane is a sulfur-containing compound that occurs naturally in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli.
BroccoMax contains a standardized broccoli seed extract with myrosinase. Many other broccoli extracts do not contain active enzymes.
Myrosinase is an enzyme that enables the conversion of glucoraphanin into sulforaphane, a process that normally takes place within the plant itself.
The delayed release of Jarrow Formulas® BroccoMax® capsules has the advantage of preserving the myrosinase enzyme activity.
